I double-majored in Journalism and English at the University of Missouri. It was here that I got my first professional work experience at Newsy—a news media start up incubated within the university’s famed Journalism school.
For four years, I helped build Newsy into a respected digital news brand and positioned it for its eventual acquisition by Scripps in 2014.
By that time, I was already in New York. I got my start in the city applying my passion for music and events into work for Townsquare Media and eventually iHeartMedia. In these roles, I created ongoing branded content series, live event experiences, influencer driven programs and cross platform campaigns that married legacy media excellence with new media thinking and tactics.
The end of my time at iHeart saw the beginning of my work in innovation consultation. Starting at the IPG Media Lab where as a Client Services Manager, then as a Strategist I shared thought-leadership reports, provided innovation and CX expertise as a consultant and managed pilot and consumer-facing projects. After IPG restructured, I helped kick-start an innovation program within Reprise.
The common thread undergirding each of these roles is my strategic thinking, and my passion for building new experiences that light up and inspire audiences.
I approach every project with an analytic mind. As a researcher and strategist, I draw from qualitative, quantitative, behavioral and broader cultural insights to shape brand efforts. I am a disruptor, always in search of the actionable tensions that can unlock insights that fuel arresting, inspiring and engaging work.
